Description

Just purchased a BaoFeng BF-F8HP and arrived today. Purchased the same model in early March and latest daily download (4-16) works fine to download radio and upload programming. It appears the new radio has different firmware. Original radio has ( press #6 when power on) 150105N, new radio 150412N. I'm very new user with CHRIP but seems really straight forward.

I can manually program channels and the radio does function with our local repeater. Please contact if you need more information from the new radio. I tried all BaoFeng models from the drop down menu without any connecting.

Error Message "Incorrect model selected".

Sorry being a new user I believe I made a mistake with firmware. I opened up my image file and found other setting firmware of N5R4303. I used the "released version of Chirp" and was able to download the "NEW" radio but it appears to have different firmware. F5R3407 again list in the image download under "other settings"

Bruce,
Did you make a "factory" download from the radio? If you did, you you attach the .img file to this "issue".
Thanks,

I do have an .img file. I was able to upload from the radio using the Released Version of Chirp and the UV-5R. I did not try to download any changes. I was warned about firmware mis-match issues and not sure exactly what Chirp uploads form the radio.

Thanks for all your Help!

Best Regards,

Bruce
