Description
The latest build doesn't display the Settings tab information for the radio. This is the tab with Basic, Advanced, Other,Work Mode, FM Radio Preset and DTMF settings. If you read from the radio this tab is blank. If you read a saved image file with the settings in it the tab is still blank. The last version I have that works for this particular radio is CHIRP daily-20140105.

When the "Settings" tab does not display, it is usually caused by an invalid setting in the radio. Include the debug.log file and/or the downloaded CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file (preferred) so the faulty setting(s) can be determined.
Sometimes a quick-and-dirty way to resolve the issue is to download from the radio after it has been RESET and then import the channels from your previous image containing the error.

Here are two log files, one from a new version of Chirp that doesn't work with my UV-5REPlus then other other log file is from an older version of Chirp that does work with my UV-5REPlus. Its the settings tab that is blank on the new version of Chirp after I do a download from the radio.

Resetting the radio from keypad, then downloading from radio to latest build of Chirp still shows the Settings tab as blank.

I haven't seen any status update from folks.. is this truely a bug or am I doing something wrong. For the moment I'm happy I have an old version that works with my older 5RE Plus. I'll keep watching the forum / site to see if anyone posts any comments.

You should not be running a 2014 version of CHIRP on a Baofeng radio.
The settings tab does not appear because the squelch settings in the Service Settings tab are out-of-range.
Either attach you CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file to this issue so it can be reviewed or download the "image" with the matching firmware version of your radio (BFS311) from "here":http://kc9hi.dyndns.org/uv5r/programming/CHIRPrecovery/. You can then upload it to your radio to repair the invalid squelch threshold settings.

Jim Tuit, thx for the suggestion to reset with the BFS311 image. I downloaded that to the radio, then read back from the radio and the Settings Tab was populated. I then imported my 'bad' img file to what I just read back from the radio and made all the sub-options in the Settings tab equal to what my old version of CHIRP read. Now the latest version of CHIRP reads the stuff from the radio correctly and Settings are populated.
