Talk Around The radio transmits with the receive frequency and tone. Default Closed Circle Key : Disable A Key : Disable Priority Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. Priority channel selection. If you set the priority Fixed or Selected, the scan mode works only on Carrier Operated method. Time Operate method is not effective in this condition. None : Priority Channel is not selected. Non-priority scan only. Fixed : You must select it in the channel information screen. (F10 key) Selected: The selected channel before scan is initiated becomes the Priority Channel. Default : None Look Back Time A Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. Priority channel checking intervals while receiving on a non-priority channel. The radio's CPU chooses either Lookback time A or B depending on the priority channel activity --Program both times. Priority channel is not busy (no carrier detected). This time is typically set shorter than Lookback B, since the priority ch. should be checked more often to prevent missing a call. Range : 0.5 to 5.0 s (0.1 s steps) Default: 0.5 s Look Back Time B Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. Priority channel checking intervals while receiving on a non-priority channel. The radio's CPU chooses either Lookback time A or B depending on the priority channel activity --Program both times. Priority channel is busy, but tone squelched. This time is typically set long because the priority ch. is busy with another caller using a different tone. Range : 0.5 to 5.0 s (0.5 s steps) Default: 2.0 s Revert Channel Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. In scan mode the radio can be programmed to revert to a certain channel upon PTT. This allows the radio to be customized to the users transmission requirements while using scan. The revert channel types are Selected, Selected plus Talkback, Last Called, Last Used plus Talkback, Priority and Priority plus Talkback. In all cases the user has the capability to manually select a channel for transmission.(this resets the revert to the selected channel) Selected :The radio reverts to the channel set by the channel selector knob prior to scan initiation. Last Called :The radio reverts to the channel upon which a call was last received even if scanning has resumed (power on default = selected channel). This is convenient for users that may commonly receive calls on several channels and desire the radio to always respond on the last call received (especially if the user is not normally able to respond immediately before scan resumes). Last Used+Talkback: The radio reverts to the channel which was last transmitted on (power on default = selected channel), however, if a call is received on a channel other than the last transmit channel and PTT is pressed before scanning resumes, the radio "talks back" on the current receive channel (scan resume time is dependent on the Dropout Delay and TX Dwell time settings). If PTT is pressed after scan resumes, the radio will transmit on the last transmit channel. This is convenient for users that always want to transmit on the channel they are currently using and do not want the revert channel to be constantly changed by other channel traffic, but need to immediately respond to calls on any other channel without having to determine which channel the call was received on and then manually switch to that channel. Selected+Talkback : The radio reverts to the channel set by the channel selector knob prior to scan initiation, however, if a call is received on a channel other than the selected channel and PTT is pressed before scanning resumes, the radio "talks back" on the current receive channel (scan resume time is dependent on the Dropout Delay and TX Dwell Time settings). If PTT is pressed after scan resumes, the radio will transmit on the selected channel. This is convenient for users who normally want to transmit on the selected channel, but need to immediately respond to calls on any other channel without having to determine which channel the call was received on and then manually switch to that channel. Priority :The radio always reverts to the priority channel. This is convenient for users that almost always need to transmit on the priority channel. Priority+Talkback :The radio always reverts to the priority channel, however, if a call is received on a channel other than the priority channel and PTT is pressed before scanning resumes, the radio "talks back" on the current receive channel(scan resume time is dependent on the Dropout Delay and TX Dwell Time settings), If PTT is pressed after scan resumes, the radio will transmit on the priority channel, This is convenient for users that almost always need to transmit on the priority channel, but need to immediately respond to calls on any other channel without having to determine which channel the call was received on and then manually switch to that channel. Default :Last Called Dropout Delay Time Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. Drop out delay time interval from the end of a received call to the time scan automatically resumes when CO/TO is programmed to "CO". It works as Time Operate time when CO/TO is programmed to "TO" (TK-768/868 series only). Time Operate time interval from the beginning of a received call to the time scan automatically resumes. (TK-768/868 series only) Range : 0.5 to 5.0 s (0.5 s steps) Default: 3.0 s TX Dwell Time Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. TX Dwell Time interval from the end of the transmission to the time scan automatically resumes. The "TX Dwell Time" is not effective in "Time Operate" scan (TK-768/868 series only). "Time Operate" scan is controlled only by "Dropout Delay Time" (works as Time Operate Time). (TK-768/868 series only). Range : 1.0 to 5.0 s (0.5 s steps) Default: 3.0 s Off Hook Scan Help This feature is not available in TK-762/862 series. The radio is able to scan even though the microphone is in the off hook condition. Enable : Enable Scanning is not controlled by microphone hook status. Radio always scans, and stops only by signal presence. Disable: Disable Microphone must be on hook for scanning. Default: Disable Carrier Operate/Time Operate Help TK-760/762/860/862 series. These models are carrier operate only. This feature can be programmed for one of two functions; Carrier Operate, Time Operate or Off. CO : Selecting "Carrier Operate" causes the scan to stop and restart with the detection of carrier (and QT/DQT if set ) on a channel; this is the traditional type scan operation. TO : Selecting "Time Operate" causes the scan to stop with the detection of carrier (and QT/DQT if set) on a channel, however, scan resumes when the "Dropout Delay Time" (works as Time Operate Time) expires even if carrier is still present. Refer "Dropout Delay Time" in the scan information screen. The "TX Dwell Time" is not effective in "Time Operate" scan. "Time Operate" scan is controlled only by "Dropout Delay Time" (works as Time Operate Time). Time Operate method is not effective in priority scan. Priority scan works on Carrier Operate method even if CO/TO is programmed to "TO". Default : CO Time Out Timer Help Time Out Timer sets the maximum period of time a user is allowed to continuously transmit at any one instance. Upon time out the radios transmitter is automatically disabled until the PTT is released. The TOT Pre-Alert sounds 10 second before time out. Range : Off/30 to 300 s (30 s steps) Default: 180 s Beep Tone Help The beep Tones for Control Tones, Power on Tone, and Warning Tone (TOT tone, TOT Pre-alert tone, Busy Channel Lockout tone) are enabled or disabled by the FPU. Yes : Enable the Beep Tones. No : Disable the Beep Tones. Default: Yes Signalling Help Signalling "AND"/"OR" sets the audio unmute condition for any channel programmed for 2-Tone or DTMF decode (option signalling). 2-Tone decode feature is available in TK-760/762/860/862 series only. DTMF decode feature needs DTMF DECODE IC (parts option) in TK-760/762/860/862 series. See the radio's service manual for details. AND : "AND" requires both the valid Opt.Signalling and the programmed QT/DQT to be received for audio to unmute (and initiate an Opt.Sig. decode alert). OR : "OR" requires either the valid Opt. Signalling or the programmed QT/DQT to be received for audio to unmute (an Opt. Sig. alert is only initiated if the proper Opt. Sig. is decoded). Default: OR Minimum Volume Help The Minimum Volume is the level which will be set automatically every time you turn on the radio. If you adjust the volume control below this level before the radio is turned off, the volume level will return to the programmed Minimum Volume level when the radio is powered up again. If the volume level is raised higher than the Minimum Volume level during use, it will return to this higher level at power off, then on again. This feature does not apply to PA Volume level. Range : 0 to 31, Step 1 Default: 12 Clone Help TK-762/862 series does not have Clone (master) mode. The Clone feature can be disabled. Enable : You can enter to the Clone (master) mode.
