Redmine CHIRP - Bug #11268 (New): Can't download 70cm repeaters from Repeaterbookhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112682024-03-29T11:24:20ZMarc Hillmanmyhillman@gmail.com

I wish to download all FM repeaters on 2m and 70cm in the Melbourne, Australia area. I used the command sequence Radio | QuerySource | Repeaterbook. Filled in a Lat/Lon and Distance. I then selected "Limit Bands". The only options offered were 10m, 6m and 2m.

There was no option for 70cm.

I expected there to be an option to select 70cm and 23cm.

CHIRP - Bug #11263 (New): TD-h3https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112632024-03-22T19:53:43ZJon Ostyn

Hello, I saw in the latest build that the power issues for this radio were fixed.

I downloaded the build from today and it still is having the same issues, I can set memories to high and they stay now but when I program the radio they get set to low still. however, I've found that I can read the radio with the Bluetooth programmer app and it will read the chirped memory value as "high" then I can write back to the radio from the Bluetooth app it will resolve the issue.

CHIRP - Bug #11260 (New): UV-25 not on compatibility site listhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112602024-03-20T05:03:38ZC R

Sorry, wasn't sure where to put this.

I noticed that the UV-25 is compatible with Chirp-Next (under UV-17PRO) but is not on the compatibility list. (https://chirpmyradio.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home)

Is it possible to start auditing the Chirp-Next compatible radio list and get the remaining ones that are supported added?
I'm noticing a pattern lately, at least on Amazon, that the Chirp compatible radios are becoming increasingly difficult to find. So if we can expand that list (if it hasn't been already) I think it's going to help spread demand across radio models.

Additionally, I'm noticing that some models like the UV-25 are using different radio firmware, wouldn't it make more sense to add "UV-25" to the firmware list and just have it use UV-17PRO firmware anyways on the backend? Owning a bunch of radios that use different firmware and helping friends with their radios... it's starting to become a chore to track down which radios go to which firmware.

Thanks.

CHIRP - Bug #11259 (New): Puxing PX-777https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112592024-03-20T04:22:32ZMike Shick

May I please obtain a chirp version that works for Puxing PX-777. The current version does not work.

CHIRP - Bug #11252 (New): Updated rpttool Issuehttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112522024-03-17T18:00:59ZKyle Brown

What is the behavior you are seeing?

While it trys to get the frequancy from the Radio in a ID-RP2000V Repeater, it returns "No frequency frame received". This was ran as root using sudo.

What is the behavior you were expecting?

It is expected to return the frequency of the Radio and move on to the menu where it can be set.

Can you reproduce the problem all the time?

Happens on both radios (Transmitter and Receiver).

What are the steps required to reproduce the problem?

-Plug in an ID-RPx000V reptear into a linux system
-Confirm port with ls /dev/ (should show up as ttyUSB0)
-Run rpttool (./rpttool /dev/ttyUSB0)
-Software says "Looking for a repeater..."
-Software says "Unable to read memory from device: No frequency frame received"
-Software ends

Is this specific to a certain radio model (driver) or something that you can reproduce with another radio?

I do not have another ID-RPx000V Repeater for testing. Unknown radio models within the unit.

Notes:
The Repeater is used and was pulled as the owner through there was a problem, however the new repeater they installed had the same problem so they don't think it was an issue with the repeater (at least that is the story I got). The repeater could still have an issue, but I have limited tools and ability to verify this. A cap on the radio has power, so I assume the radio is getting the 13.8 volts I am feeding the unit. I didn't see any LED's on the outside or inside to indicate power to the Radio. Plugging the USB in without power to the radio shows /dev/ttyUSB0 and lsusb shows "ID 0c26:0012 Prolific Technology Inc. ID-RP2000V SERVICE <T/R>" (<T/R> just represents the Transmitter or Receiver radio and changes depending on which one I am plugged into). Tested with two different cables, but same results.

Debug log is not supplied as this is not part of the normal application, it is an additional application that is ran by command line and has hooks into the Chirp library.

CHIRP - Bug #7095 (New): memedit shows default mode 'FM' for subdevice which has only 'WFM'https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/70952019-09-19T10:47:49ZJaroslav Škarvadajskarvad@redhat.com

Created device with feature:
rf.valid_modes = ["FM", "WFM", "AM"]

and one subdevice with feature:
rf.valid_modes = ["WFM", "AM"]

Then in the subdevice channel list the empty channels are shown with mode 'FM', not 'WFM'.

I had to workaround it by adding the following to the subdevice get_memory:

def get_memory(self, number):
mem = chirp_common.Memory()
mem.freq = self.freq_icom2chirp(mem_item.freq)
if is_empty(number):
mem.empty = True
mem.mode = "WFM"
...

CHIRP - Bug #7093 (New): "ERROR: Editing new item, taking defaults" when editing new channelhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/70932019-09-19T09:31:59ZJaroslav Škarvadajskarvad@redhat.com

It shows when editing new (previously empty) channel on e.g. UV-5R, but I think it's not specific to the radio.

The error comes from the chirp/ui/memedit.py:341:

if not self.store.get(iter, self.col("_filled"))[0] and \
self.store.get(iter, self.col(_("Frequency")))[0] == 0:
LOG.error(_("Editing new item, taking defaults"))
self.insert_new(iter)

Is it really error? For me it seems confusing, shouldn't it be e.g. debug?

CHIRP - Bug #7047 (New): FM broadcast function after downloading to UV-25x2https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/70472019-09-06T17:14:22ZPatrick Larkin

I uploaded factory IMG which re-enabled the function of FM broadcast, so there's something in my settings that is disabling the FM button. If I figure out what setting is causing the issue, I'll let you know, but if you have some way of telling (logs?) or hints what might cause it, let me know and I'll focus there.

CHIRP - Bug #5399 (New): Baofeng UV-5RE transmit power reversedhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/53992017-11-28T21:47:47ZJonny Mauldc7ntp@penguintech.de

Today i found out about a strange behaviour in recent CHIRP that while programming the UV-5RE/UV-5R+ the transmit power setting is reversed.
The radio has two output power settings, high and low. If you set high power in CHIRP it represents as low power on the radio and vise versa.
With a "normal" UV-5R everything's the right way around.
The UV-5RE radio firmware is BFB297 as reported after holding "3" and turning on the radio.
I do own the radio for about a month now, so i can't tell if it's a regression or has been like this forever.
I'm running CHIRP daily from Arch User repository on Arch Linux amd64.
