Redmine CHIRP - New Model #11267 (New): KSUN UV60D (Quansheng UV-K5https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112672024-03-28T05:00:16ZTy Lu

Received this radio for test purposes by the vendor. It looks exactly like the Quansheng UV-K5, in fact it's the exact same radio as the Quangsheng UV-K5, with just a custom logo on the faceplate of the radio. Was able to read and write to the radio using the Quansheng UVK5 radio. Also was able to flash custom firmware from egzumer in github and other web based that flashes custom firmware to the Quansheng HT's. So if any developer can add the radio to the list of supported radios to CHIRP.

Downloaded and saved the stock image from the radio.

CHIRP - New Model #11266 (New): Baofeng GM21 (GMRS only)https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112662024-03-28T03:55:44ZTy Lu

New radio from Baofeng and it's locked to GMRS only. I tried several methods (2 to 3 finger salute) to and unlock the radio but it doesn't work. Was able to read and write to the radio with no issues. Had to use Baofeng "GM-5RH" for the current CHIRP to work. I made the mistake of not downloading the stock image and saving it until I realized it was too late. But so far, no issues on reading and writing to the radio, every menu options under CHIRP correspond with the radio's menu.

CHIRP - Bug #11264 (New): Builds possibly contain Viruseshttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112642024-03-23T15:54:13ZPaul BellKD8BXY@hotmail.com

The last several build from CHIRP-NEXT, My Norton utilities Anti-virus software has identified a virus named: "WS:Reputation.1" in the EXE file.

CHIRP - Bug #11263 (New): TD-h3https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112632024-03-22T19:53:43ZJon Ostyn

Hello, I saw in the latest build that the power issues for this radio were fixed.

I downloaded the build from today and it still is having the same issues, I can set memories to high and they stay now but when I program the radio they get set to low still. however, I've found that I can read the radio with the Bluetooth programmer app and it will read the chirped memory value as "high" then I can write back to the radio from the Bluetooth app it will resolve the issue.

CHIRP - New Model #11262 (New): Baofeng UV999 Pro Max V2 https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112622024-03-20T15:48:06ZLawrence Sproul

In releases 20240311 to 20240317 I was able to use the UV13Pro to download from my radio, but in release 20240319 it will not download using that driver.
Also, on upload, it sometimes disables all audio.
I have attached two images from Chirp. The one with CO in the name had working audio and the other img caused the audio to not work. I have not tried to replicate it yet. It is possible that he audio issue might have come up when I updated chirp from 0311 to 0317.
I have also included a .data file for the radio that was produced by the P15UV software. This software allowed me to get the audio working again.
I would be willing to loan the radio or work with someone on it. I have programming skills, but my python is a bit weak and I would like to better understand how chirp drivers work.

CHIRP - Bug #11260 (New): UV-25 not on compatibility site listhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112602024-03-20T05:03:38ZC R

Sorry, wasn't sure where to put this.

I noticed that the UV-25 is compatible with Chirp-Next (under UV-17PRO) but is not on the compatibility list. (https://chirpmyradio.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home)

Is it possible to start auditing the Chirp-Next compatible radio list and get the remaining ones that are supported added?
I'm noticing a pattern lately, at least on Amazon, that the Chirp compatible radios are becoming increasingly difficult to find. So if we can expand that list (if it hasn't been already) I think it's going to help spread demand across radio models.

Additionally, I'm noticing that some models like the UV-25 are using different radio firmware, wouldn't it make more sense to add "UV-25" to the firmware list and just have it use UV-17PRO firmware anyways on the backend? Owning a bunch of radios that use different firmware and helping friends with their radios... it's starting to become a chore to track down which radios go to which firmware.

Thanks.

CHIRP - Bug #11259 (New): Puxing PX-777https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112592024-03-20T04:22:32ZMike Shick

May I please obtain a chirp version that works for Puxing PX-777. The current version does not work.

CHIRP - New Model #11256 (New): KSTERA V9https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112562024-03-19T12:39:19ZDavid McGlothlinfcems25@yahoo.com

Looking to see if this new mini uhf walkie talkie model can be added to the CHIRP software. Thanks.

CHIRP - New Model #11254 (New): Yaesu FTM-500Dhttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112542024-03-18T21:24:40ZTannon Weber

Requesting support for the Yaesu FTM-500D to be added to CHRIP. In North America this is the FTM-500DR, and has models like the FTM-500DE in Europe.

I can potentially provide access to or short loan of an FTM-500DR to a developer local to Arizona.

Additionally for the last several Yaesu models, it has been possible to export radio full config and channel list config to an SD card for editing on a PC with their ADMS software, and then to import the revised files back into the radio via the same SD card. This obviates the need to use a connection cable or for the radio to even be local to the PC doing the configuration work. This sort of feature would be convenient for mobile units that aren't easily removed from vehicles if it were implemented.

CHIRP - Feature #11253 (New): Continuous Transmit?https://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112532024-03-17T22:08:26ZDylan Martinovich

Hi very new to radios.
wondering if it is possible to create code/configuration that allows transmit for long periods, ie no transmit timeout or extended timeout.
thanks Dylan

CHIRP - Bug #11252 (New): Updated rpttool Issuehttps://chirpmyradio.com/issues/112522024-03-17T18:00:59ZKyle Brown

What is the behavior you are seeing?

While it trys to get the frequancy from the Radio in a ID-RP2000V Repeater, it returns "No frequency frame received". This was ran as root using sudo.

What is the behavior you were expecting?

It is expected to return the frequency of the Radio and move on to the menu where it can be set.

Can you reproduce the problem all the time?

Happens on both radios (Transmitter and Receiver).

What are the steps required to reproduce the problem?

-Plug in an ID-RPx000V reptear into a linux system
-Confirm port with ls /dev/ (should show up as ttyUSB0)
-Run rpttool (./rpttool /dev/ttyUSB0)
-Software says "Looking for a repeater..."
-Software says "Unable to read memory from device: No frequency frame received"
-Software ends

Is this specific to a certain radio model (driver) or something that you can reproduce with another radio?

I do not have another ID-RPx000V Repeater for testing. Unknown radio models within the unit.

Notes:
The Repeater is used and was pulled as the owner through there was a problem, however the new repeater they installed had the same problem so they don't think it was an issue with the repeater (at least that is the story I got). The repeater could still have an issue, but I have limited tools and ability to verify this. A cap on the radio has power, so I assume the radio is getting the 13.8 volts I am feeding the unit. I didn't see any LED's on the outside or inside to indicate power to the Radio. Plugging the USB in without power to the radio shows /dev/ttyUSB0 and lsusb shows "ID 0c26:0012 Prolific Technology Inc. ID-RP2000V SERVICE <T/R>" (<T/R> just represents the Transmitter or Receiver radio and changes depending on which one I am plugged into). Tested with two different cables, but same results.

Debug log is not supplied as this is not part of the normal application, it is an additional application that is ran by command line and has hooks into the Chirp library.
