Description
There seems to be a new version of the already supported RT40B model: RT40
Here is an official blog post from end of August 2023 announcing this model: https://www.retevis.com/blog/rt40-is-the-first-dmr-handheld-radio
This is the product page: https://www.retevis.com/rt40-license-free-pmr446-handheld-dmr-radio-eu
In comparison to the RT40B, the new version seems to have a new case, the battery can be charged directly via a USB-C port on the battery, and there are two audio jacks (Kenwood K1: 2,5 mm TRS + 3,5 mm TRS audio jacks) instead of the TRRS audio jack of the older RT40B.
Unfortunately, the RT40B setting in CHIRP did not work for me with the new RT40. It would be nice if this radio could also be supported by CHIRP. Let me know if I can help with that.

I'm somewhat confused if the "old" RT40(B) is/was available as two different models: One for FRS in the US and another for PMR446 in the EU: https://www.retevissolutions.com/blog/retevis-rt40-dmr-handheld-two-way-radio-use-in-security
I'm not sure whether both of these models also offer DMR, but from my older RT40 (PMR466) it also offers DMR and what the "B" means in the model name. Apparently the RT40B is supported by CHIRP - maybe there only the analog functions can be programmed. I was not (yet) able to test if using the RT40B works for my "older" RT40 (PMR466 with DMR). If it does, it would be nice to also have this functionality to program the newer RT40 model, even if only the configuration of analog channels would work. That's better than nothing – especially on macOS with ARM processor where I can't get the original software to work.
