There is a possible solution (a firmware upgrade) suggested in #7839; please check and see whether it helps.

#7839 is referencing the FT-450D model. The FT-450D firmware will not work on a non-D model.

As the originator of the FT-450D driver, I would love to add non-D model support. However, nobody in my local area has one to borrow. If Tony is willing to do some USB capture with the Yaesu PCC-450 software then we could try it.
PCC S/W link: https://www.yaesu.com/downloadFile.cfm?FileID=8353&FileCatID=42&FileName=PCC%2D450%5FV113.zip&FileContentType=application%2Fx%2Dzip%2Dcompressed
Since the radio has CAT support, I could also try to make a live-mode driver version. That would allow memory channel edits.

Should this be considered closed with the recent add of FT450 clone support to the FT450d.py module?

Just FYI, if you put "Fixes #7135" in a commit message it will link and auto-close the related issue.
