Description

probably not an "issue" but I need some insight... I saved a CHIRP file and it has the *.img file extension I'd like to open it in an app, perhaps, a photo app?, and print it. Every time I try to do this it doesn't work. I tried MS Photos.exe; photoshop; paint; and none of them will open it. I'm not even sure what an *.img file is?

Any suggestions?

Hi Gary,

A CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file is not an "image" in the sense of a picture or screen capture that can be edited by a photo app. It is a "snapshot" of the radio's memory that it was downloaded from. You edit it with CHIRP.

If you want to print out the the frequencies, channel names, etc, what you would do is export the selected tab (File -> Export) to a CSV file. The CSV file can then be loaded into a text editor like Notepad or spreadsheet program like Excel, modified to suit and then printed.

As explained above, memory images can't be printed. Export as CSV and open in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel.
