Description

Downloaded latest version of CHIRP,
'Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CHIRP_stypes.pyd'
Tried to install the previous version which I had installed 10/11/2020 successfully, sane error now.
Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363

The CHIRP Folder was somehow flagged as read only, on File Explorer highlight the CHIRP folder and go to properties, if the Read Only indicator is checked, un-check it, apply, then I did a shutdown/restart. then downloaded the current CHIRP, install worked perfect.

Give this a try...

1 Use Control Panel to uninstall CHIRP
2 Reboot computer
3 Right-click installer file and choose "Run as administrator" to install CHIRP

The problem turned out to be that the CHIRP folder somehow was flagged as a read only folder. Changed the property to remove the read only flag and the installation works perfect..
