Description

I recently purchased a UV-25X2 unit and had it programmed with different repeaters that I use often. It was working great for about a day while I was using it for line of sight transmissions around the farm when out of the blue it wouldn’t let me transmit at all. When I go to key the Mic the channel or frequency that I have selected will show
TX-STOP!.After flashing the original configuration to the radio the radio now displays “KILLED” in the bottom header where it typically reads UV-25X2.
I tried flashing over the factory configuration and it no longer reads “KILLED!” But will still only show “TX-STOP!” When attempting to transmit
I flashed the radio with the provided programming from trouble shooting support and tested the RX capabilities and it works flawlessly but when trying to TX it still will read “TX-STOP!”. When flashed with my desired programming it reads “KILLED” in the bottom bar and will neither RX or TX. When flashed back to provided programming it goes bat to being able to RX but not TX.
attached are the different programming that i tried

A "reset" wouldn't recover a "stunned" radio. It would defeat the purpose of remotely stunning a radio. You should be able to load any CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file that you saved prior to your radio becomming remotely "killed" to revive it. If you overwrote your only configured image with a tab from your "killed" radio, then you should be able to recover doing the following...

  1. Download the "factory" CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) for your radio from the "CHIRP repository":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/repository/show/tests/images.
  2. Load this image into CHIRP to create a tab that is compatible with your radio.
  3. Add your channels to this tab by importing your "configured" image into this tab.
  4. Configure the Settings tabs to suit your needs (load you configured image at the same time and toggle between tabs to see the differences).
  5. Upload the tab into your radio.

That should do it. Let me know the result. Don't upload any of your "killed" images into the radio or you will "kill" it again.

I've tried to fash the radio with the factory settings from chirp but it still reads TX STOP!. If I flash it to the configuration that it had before it started acting up it reads KILLED!. The files were not overwritten but new ones made.

The parent file should be how the radio was configured from the factory and the only difference between configured and configured #2 should be that #2 is the downloaded configuration after the radio stopped working. If I flash it to the first configured it will kill the radio but if flashed to the parent or factory configuration it will only be stunned.

Don't import them into any other image. Pick one and upload it directly to your radio. Then report back.
