In respect of the third issue, the Speech feature and its language setting.
This appears in the radio's Menu (Item 21) as
VOICE =
OFF (no voice announcement)
CHI (Chinese language)
ENG (English language)
In CHIRP Settings>Language, only two values are available. English works fine. A displayed 'Chinese' results in no voice announcements (OFF), and the OFF value itself is absent from the drop down menu.

It transpires that the factory CPS v1.0.38 gets this wrong too although it works fine within the device's firmware.
Attached are three img files, each set to one of the three values permitted on the device and then read out into CHIRP.

Settings>Language in CHIRP seems to have no effect.
This parameter does not appear in the factory CPS or the device firmware.
