Description
The new Leixen VV898S is the new 25W Tri-Power version of the 10W VV898.
CHIRP accepts the 898 selection when programming an 898S, but skews the power levels and Bandwidth selection.
Let me know how I can assist on this end.

I am not sure what is going on. I have downloaded, chirp so that, I can program my Leixen, VV898s. S/N:160115B1626with a ID as followed: 2AC2Z898UV.I have followed the directions, that say you must first read from radio. I have done just that and, I have loaded up the frequency's, that I want to write to the radio. Now I have, set-up the input frequency's which are the input and output. Every time I go to, hit the read to radio. it is never highlighted as is the read from the radio. Now I have programed many radios but this one, is a royal pain in the butt. I did my TYT quad band TH-9800R without, any problems. I have tried to, program the radio without the Chrip program and cable without, any luck. I can get, one of our clubs frequency's in but it does not allow it to be saved. Every time I try to, I get a pop-up saying that this function is not accepted. If, anyone else has had this problem and, has been able to fix it, please send me the directions or, the web site/page with the directions.
Many Thanks,
Glenn From Maryland Stumped

Although the dual power 10W VV898 is supported by CHIRP, the tri-power 25W VV898S is not.
Testing shows there are several differences between the two versions that CHIRP still needs to address.
As for manual programming, refer to the Miklor.com website.
More specifically: http://www.miklor.com/VV898/VV-Program.php
I hope this assists.
