Description
On some markets the UV88 ships locked to memory mode and into amateur frequencies. I have read about unlocking it with some button combos on power up like 1+7 for unlocking VFO.
Mine arrived completely unlocked, and I would like to lock it into memory mode and/or amateur frequencies. Trying the button combos for unlocking doesn't seem to do the opposite on my device.
The Baofeng UV-5R has such locking implemented into CHIRP, and Its not available with any button combos or in the factory programming software.
Any chance something similar could be implemented for the UV88?

Setting frequency ranges is now possible with the factory software. It's explained in detail here: https://jcrumb.github.io/posts/tyt-tools/
This can probably be implemented into chirp.
