Description

I programmed my two Baofeng UV5R radios with the 20130711 Daily Build. The software worked great and the radio is functioning properly. I then tried to read both radios with the Baofeng OEM software (both the Old/New and VIP) and the software starts to read it but before it is done the radio restarts itself and the software gives a "Failure To Communicate With Transceiver" message. Any help would be appreciated. I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I could not find it in a search. Thanks.

Hi Michael,

I'm glad CHIRP is working well for you. The OEM software problem that your are experiencing has not been discussed here. This is a support system for CHIRP.

If you would post your question in the Yahoo! baofeng_uv5r user group, there are many members, including myself, that would be happy to help you with getting the Baofeng software working.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your response. I guess I didn't explain the situation very well. The Baofeng OEM software was working fine before I programmed the radios with the CHIRP software. So I assumed the problem was caused by the CHIRP software and not the OEM software. However, I found that my McAfee antivirus program started running a scheduled computer scan in the background that I was unaware of at the time I was trying to use the OEM software. I paused the scan and everything worked fine. I guess it should be noted that an antivirus program scan running in the background can cause problems when programming your radios.

Thanks again for your help and all your hard work on CHIRP.
