I hate to tell you but that's not at all how it works :) Yaesu radios especially differ very very significantly between models, even ones that seem like they should be very similar.

After looking at the repo I think the real problem is an almost total lack of comments in the code, and the absence of a developer guide to help someone understand how to write a new driver, or derive from an existing one. I have some 50 years of dev experience and don't mind diving into a new driver, but not if I have to reverse engineer someone else's code...
