I read the instructions above:

Description

Using latest daily CHIRP. Radio is similar to the MTC radio UV-5R-3, or the Radioddity UV-5RX3 or the uv-s9. Model UV-860 tri-band.
3+on shows "3B5Rv01".
6+on shows "190831M".
Initially, I misread the radio's memory and then programmed it as a Baofeng UV-5r model.
After that, I got a bug with scanning, you can see more in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlzPtpSBUxk
Every time I try to change the frequency of the UHF band or turn on scanning, it immediately goes to the VHF band at a frequency of 130 MHz or even to a random value.
Also I can not enter a frequency in the range between 200-260 MHz. Although initially it worked, before programming. In this case, the channels work normally in all three bands. Then I found an error and again read and programmed as radioddity uv-5rx3 but it did not help me, no matter how I tried to change the settings for limiting the frequency range. Even if I try to program the original img file, which I first read as uv-5x, it still doesn't help.

The radio looks like a renamed UV-S9. According to the Supported_Radios list, you should choose

Baofeng/Pofung

  • UV-S9 (tri-power: use BF-F8HP)
  • UV-S9/S9T/S9X3 (tri-band: use Radioddity UV-5RX3)

It looks like the Aux memory of the Radioddity image is corrupt. This may be related to issue #10505. It seems like a bug in the latest radios.

Assuming that the UV-5X and UV-5R images are "factory", I would first recover your radio by performing a full upload of either of those images to your radio. You would do this by...

  1. Open CHIRP-next
  2. Locate and load the Baofeng_UV-5X_20230425.img (or Baofeng_UV-5R_20230425.img) file
  3. Click Settings -> Advanced Settings
  4. In the Range Override Parameter setting, replace "Default_____" with "UseAtOwnRisk"
  5. Upload the tab to your radio
  6. After a successful upload, restart CHIRP-next

Don't lose track of the UV-5X / UV-5R files. I have a felling that this may happen again.
