I've Tried a couple cables.
Using a Digirig Mobile as my serial device. I keep getting this error
chirp failed to communicate with radio:failed to read header(0)

I just tested my FT-7800 and it works fine, both upload and download. Your log indicates that chirp isn't getting anything (at all) from your radio, so I would suggest cable, driver, etc. That's assuming you're doing the clone procedure and button dance on the radio, per the prompts in chirp...
I also see you tried the 7800 once and then the VX5 twice. Any chance you tweaked a cable thing and intended to try the 7800 again, but selected the wrong model?

I have been trying both the 7800 and the VX-5 both with no luck using the Digirig Mobile serial device. I will have to investigate more as far as drivers go. This was on windows 11 I will also try on windows 10 when I get a moment.
