Feature #10630
openAdd Yaesu preset receive memories to bank system
0%
Description
Several Yaesu radios have multiple predefined, unalterable frequencies stored in some separately-accessible memory. They can be referred to by bank entries, and possibly in VFO settings. These references were the cause of the bug #5167, which was "fixed" by causing CHIRP to ignore the entries. Implement these new memories.
Updated by Declan Rieb over 1 year ago
The memories are only referenced via the banks or as selectable input to VFOs, and are not stored in memory accessible to either CHIRP or Yaesu’s ADMS software.
I know the Yaesu FT-1, FT2, FT3, and FT5 have these “preset” memory locations. I own an FT2, and have scanned the manuals for others. These memories seem to be defined for radios with a receiver capable of 500kHz - UHF (900MHz?) although none of the presets are in UHF. Presets are defined for 80+ shortwave broadcasters, 57 International VHF Marine channels, and ten [NOAA-only?] broadcast channels.
Yaesu FT-4, FT-70, FTM-3200 and FTM-5000 have weather channel(s) only.
None are available in the Yaesu FT-450.
I didn’t do an exhaustive search for all Yaesu models or of the sub-versions of these radios (-D, D-R, -X, etc)
--- note: Since they are only referenceable by an entry in the banks or during VFO-setting, I'm not confident that CHIRP will ever be able to handle these.
