Bug #10662
closedUV-5R has blank settings menue in Chirp
0%
Description
I'm seeing a problem with both the Legacy Chirp and Chirp Next, in trying to program a new UV-5R radio. I have another UV-5R, as well as a BF-F8, and both versions of Chirp work perfectly on those. On another UV-5R that I purchased that arrived today, I'm getting an error when it tries to read the Settings menu, and if I go to the settings menus, it's totally blank... just a blank screen.
I've tried doing an all-reset on the radio, and still no joy. The Baofeng UV_5R_P3 factory software works, so I used that to program the radio. I also compared every menu setting between my old UV-5R that works with Chirp, and changed the menu settings on the new UV-5R to match. When I then download the new UV-5R into Chirp, it picks up all the repeaters that I've programmed in, but the menu setting page is completely blank.

This is a bug in the most recent BFB298 firmware. That makes this a duplicate of issue #10505. I'm waiting on someone to test and provide feedback with the driver I added. Please follow and contribute there.
