Bug #1073
closedNew firmware version for UV-82
0%
Description
I just bought a 2nd UV-82, and CHIRP reads it but will not display any data, if I try to write to it I get a unsupported version error.
I have another UV-82 that works perfectly with CHIRP.
Checking the radios I see the following firmwares
#1 - BF8210 (works with CHIRP)
#2 - B82S21 (Does not work with CHIRP)
I found that if I remove the antenna it will work with the Baofeng software, so I know that the radio is operational. (if the radio receives a transmission it interrupts the download.)
response from Jim-
The UV-82 driver is looking for the radio to reply with "BF82" and your new one doesn't. Please submit a "New Issue" and supply the same info.

David,
Thanks for the debug.log files. I have emailed you a modified uv5r.py file that should work with this new firmware version and instructions for how to load it into your CHIRP. Please try it out.
Thanks,
