Description
I am having a strange problem when I attempt to upload to my Yaesu FT-50R handheld. I follow all of the correct preparatory steps, and the radio reports "WAIT". When I click "OK" to begin the upload, CHIRP reports "CHIRP failed to communicate with radio (can only concatenate str (not "bytes") to str)". I have tried this on two PC's including one Windows 10 box and one Windows 11 box with the same results. The programming cable uses the Prolific chipset with the PL2303TA chipset. Under Windows 10, it is installed with the Prolific version 3.8.42 driver dated 02/22/2023. Under Windows 11, the Prolific driver is version 1.12.0 as a means of forcing Windows 11 to recognize the programming cable and talk to it.
The system will download from the radio with no problem. I reset the radio to factory settings because some of the memories were reporting "index out of range", and I wanted a clean start with this radio that I recently acquired. I can program the radio manually, and that programming shows up properly when I download the radio into CHIRP.
The .IMG files of both a factory data file and the data file that I am attempting to upload are attached, as is the debug log file.
