Description
This is a new tri-band radio. Looks like the old UV-5R but much bigger. So far I was able to get the latest version of CHIRP to read and write to the radio using the Baofeng UV-17Pro from the menu. On CHIRP, it list the Channel 0-999, but once you write to the radio. Channel 1 on CHIRP is Channel 2 on the radio.

Is it possible for Chirp to disable the TX for UHF/VHF on the 5RM? Similar to the UV-5R and similar models.
The 5RM should already supports this ability. Like any other radio that supports the disabling of TX, you set the Duplex field in CHIRP to 'off'. If setting this field does not result in TX being disabled, then the radio doesn't support the disabling of TX (at least in the manner of how the UV-5R and similar models typically do).

Thank you for such a quick reply. Very new to radios and Chirp, but I see what you mean about editing the duplex field on the memories tab. This should do the trick. If in VFO mode with a direct entry of said frequency, would it allow transmit? I will test tomorrow to confirm. Thank you.
