Sorry for posting here, but you guys have no contact info anywhere. ;)

I've noticed that kc9hi.dyndns.org/uv5r/programming/CHIRPrecovery/ directory is missing BF298 factory images.
I've received two UV-5Rs with BFB298 today and, before touching them, downloaded their original images using two different versions of CHIRP - next on a Win 7 and older legacy on a Mac High Sierra.

Those images are attached in a zip archive.

Please delete this post afterwards.

Back in the day when the firmware version meant something, firmware versions were unique and those ending with an even number (ie BFB298) indicated that the radio was a 220/UHF model. Even numbered firmware versions (ie BFB297) indicated that he radio was a VHF/UHF model. This is no longer the case. Most UV-5R like models today masquerade as BFB298 no matter what the underlying firmware version. This renders the displayed firmware version meaningless. In other words, you can no longer safely depend on uploading an image into a radio based on the firmware version of the image matching the firmware image of the radio. It is for this reason that newer images are no longer publicly shared. Also note that the contact info for KC9HI is good in the QRZ amateur radio callsign database.
