Attempting to download from new Baofeng BF-F8HP-PRO
Expected download (clone) of radio.
Received error indicating failure due to not expected amount
New radio. Download worked successfully on Baofeng UV-5R.
No OEM software to try.

Please check your cable and connections. You almost certainly don't have the cable fully seated into the radio.

That was the problem ... really had to push hard to get the connector to seat firmly.
