Description
Hi Dan
- when radio is read, chirp displays eight character name.
- If name edit is attempted, chirp limits out at seven characters,
- csv export sends only seven characters.
- csv import limits only seven characters even if eight is present in name field.
let me know if you need a log or csv file
thanks in advance

This must be specific to some model since not all models even have eight characters. Please provide more detail. Include an image of the affected radio and the resulting CSV file.
Thanks!

Hi Dan
The csv export preserved the eighth character.
Any live edit will lose the the eighth character.
The eighth character was lost in the csv import.
See the pg1 and pg2 print screens.
log also attached.
thanks
David

You still haven't outright told me which radio you're using, but I determined it from your log. Fixed for tomorrow's daily build.
Thanks!
