Description

Uploaded Chirp UV-3R .img file to UV-B5. Used Baofeng UV-B5 -PC Software to add Names and to correct info in many fields that did not upload properly, then tried to download from radio using CHIRP daily builds 20140105 and then 20140121, but get errors on some, but not all Name lines. Exact same problem using a Windows 7, 64 bit PC and a Windows 7, 32 bit netbook. Used a USB radio cable with Prolific 3.2.0.0 driver that works with CHIRP for Kenwood, Wouxon, UV-3R and UV-5R radios. The same cable works on both PCs with the CHIRP and Baofeng UV-B5 -PC Software.

No problems with many other radios. You guys are AMAZING !!

A friend of mine created a CHIRP UV-B5 file with only a few channels. I copied and pasted from a Wouxon file to make the attached file and it works fine for both upload and download, so CHIRP is working fine now with my UV-B5 file. Hope that you hadn't spent any time on this one yet.

Thanks again for all you do to make CHIRP such a wonderfully versatile program.

Mike,
I started looking at this earlier today. I have determined that the main problem is being caused the TX Tone being out of range. The Time Out Timer is also out of range. I will be submitting a patch to fix both of these issues.
Thanks,
Jim
