Bug #183
closedPX-777 text labels don't show special characters correctly
0%
Description
I uploaded the contents of my PX-777+ into CHIRP for the first time, and some of the labels are off. These channels were all programmed with the Puxing software.
"HAM-A" appears as "HAM?A"
"925" appears as "925+++"
There is one channel with a trailing blank that does show up correctly.
When I try to type in - as a character in a channel name, it just disappears.
I've attached the .img file from CHIRP and the .sin file from the Puxing software that was originally used to program the radio.

I fixed those two characters for tomorrow. If you want more of them fixed, you'll need to generate me another image with those characters in it so I can inspect and adjust.
Thanks!

Thanks. Those are the only ones I use, but I'll be happy to generate a sample file of other characters if you tell me which ones.

Maybe just one with each symbol across the top row of number keys (i.e. !,@,#,etc) would be good.
Thanks!

Not sure if these files will be helpful. The .sin file has special characters in the first few channel names, but they didn't show up correctly on the radio display when I programmed them. Mostly I got blanks, with the occasional digit. Many of they keyboard special characters (not on the top row) don't even show up when typed.
I can try again a different way if you have any suggestions.

Okay, thanks for that. I don't have a radio, so there isn't much I can do to test this. If you could just run through the channels you programmed on the radio and see which, if any, chirp doesn't display properly, that would help. I need to know the channel number, the position (i.e. third character, etc), and what's supposed to be there.
However, it sounds like we're pretty close to what the radio supports, so we could just call it good if you want.
Thanks!
