openIC80AD upload crashes Mac 10.9.4

Description
I am using a IC80AD with Mac OS X 10.9.4 and a usb serial cable bought from KawaMall. I installed the Prolific driver per KawaMall and Prolific instructions. The driver installed and works perfectly with Downloading from the Radio. All the data shows and in os x I see the driver active. When uploading to Radio it immediately freezes and hangs the computer. I am not able to exit the program or shut it down. Everything is frozen and only a power off reset will allow to exit from this state.
Note that I even ran a diagnostic program from Prolific and it confirmed that the cable has the 2303 driver. I am using the daily built. Since the whole computer crashes I am unable to supply a Chirp Log.

I ran chirp again to try to create a log file. The log file is attached. Just like before it locked up my computer. ran the kextstat command as requested and the output was:

Maybe to be clear on one more point, after the attempted upload the radio display shows clone mode.I then have to reset the computer with a power off and reset the radio by powering off as well. Note that the memories in the radio are then erased and all setting seem to have been returned to a default. Since I have two of them I can restore the setting thankfully by cloning from my other IC80AD.

I loaded the Generic PL 2303 driver and the following happened:
- I was able to download data from Radio
- When uploading to radio the process seemed to progress but at the end the radio showed a Clone Error on the display.
- The good news is the computer didn't lock up this time but it still didn't work as far as uploading *when turning the radio off and on all memory settings were erased.
- The debug log is attached.

so this could be caused by a number of things but I would try the following:
- try different usb ports on the computer (e.g., if using front, try back; if using hub, try direct port, and vice-versa)
- try different computer
- try different cable

I tried different ports. Same result. I only have one cable so I guess I am out of luck for now. Hopefully someone will be able to fix this one day. Thanks for everyone's efforts, its a great program for most people.

This might be the typical "Mac hates Prolific" problem.
However, a lot of Icom radios do have problems with FTDI cables (even genuine ones).
For now, you're (still) out of luck, until we can find out what in the Icom drivers causes the problem.
