Description

I am using the daily build from 2012-06-08 on OSX. When I try to put a frequency in the app for the FM broadcast band, 101.3000, I get the following error:

"

Error setting memoryFrequency 101.300000 is out of supported range

"

However, the Baofeng UV-5R is capable of receiving wide band. From http://www.amazon.com/BaoFeng-UV-5R-136-174-400-480-Dual-Band/dp/B007H4VT7A "Frequency Range: 65-108MHz(FM Receive only) 136-174MHZ and 400-480HZ (TX/RX) "

Thanks,
Rob

The broadcast band coverage is done by a different chip inside the radio and patched through the speaker. If it's like the other Baofeng radio, the preset memories are stored within that chip and not accessible to external software. Can you program those with the OEM software? If not, CHIRP can't either.

I will test programming with the OEM software. To tell you the truth, I haven't even installed the OEM software.

Any progress on this or shall I close?

I haven't had time. Go ahead and close, or set it in whatever state that makes it clear that you are waiting on the user.

Thanks,
Rob

The OEM software does not allow programming of the receive only FM broadcast radio. If you try to input 101.3 you get an error "over the range of input frequency" and the frequency gets reset to 136.000000
Tested with OEM VIP software.

Hope this helps,
JL
