Description

I try to download from my FT-817ND and get this error:

Checksum Failed [00AD] block 31

Tried several times and get the same error. Any suggestions? I am using the latest download on a Windows XP platform.

Debug attached.

Joe

This sure looks like a faulty cable. Which one are you using?

Does it always fail on block 31?

Are you using the proper 817ND (not 817US or 817) driver to download?

Chirp never asked for a driver. Where do I set this up?

I went back and looked. I may have used the FT-817 instead of FT-817ND (US version). I will try again and let you know. Thanks.

That's pretty much par for the course with that radio. Between a tight-fitting jack, varying electrical and physical tolerances, and massively insufficient RFI shielding on the inputs, the most common solution to cloning issues is "unplug, replug, try again".

Glad it's working :)
