Description

Not sure if it's been resolved, or can be resolved.

Trying the daily build, I get the "error has occurred - Incorrect Model selected" error message.

Using the "uv5r (4).py" module I found using this board, using chirp-daily-20150616 on Linux, I can get my UV-5R to download, but when I try to upload I get
"The upload was stopped because the firmware version of the image ( ) does not match that of the radio (ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ)"

Radio Version is '\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff\xff'

Should I return the radio, or is a fix available?

Thank you,
Gary

Sorry, forgot to mention:
Firmware Message 1: greyed out
Firmware Message 2: greyed out
6+Power-on-Message 1: 150110N

Oddly, it will work with the Baofeng UV-5R software. But it's not user friendly.
Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

If you want it to work with CHIRP, you will have to get the radio replaced. The 14 byte section of memory that should contain the firmware version is blank. CHIRP must have this information to know if a CHIRP Radio Image (*.img) file that is being uploaded is compatible with the radio it is being uploaded to. This is a problem with the radio and not CHIRP. Sorry.
