Description

Hi, First thanks for producing a really great program.

I recently purchased a mobile 2 meter/70cm unit that is a bear to program. One of the main problem is that if you program it in VFO mode the offset is lost when trying to save to a memory. There is some software available that you can program the memory offset by inserting the send and receive frequencies separately but this is very cumbersome and as it was originally written for the domestic Chinese market the menus are just a number of? marks. The plus side of the radio is its small very inexpensive and works really well having 25 watts output and a cost of between 80 -100.

I believe we will be seeing a lot more of these units and it could really benefit being programmable by Chirp which I currently use with 2 other radio's I own. You have a great product and I hope you will consider this request. I'd be glad to loan my unit for our use.

Thanks John

Until CHIRP supports this radio, here is a solution to your manual programming efforts.

Go to: http://www.miklor.com/KT8900/
and select the Manual Programming section.
There you will find step-by-step instructions on entering repeater offsets.
