Bug #286
openKenwood TH-F7 : cannot save memories with split frequencies
0%
Description
I am running Chirp Daily 20120811. I have tested this issue on both windows (32bit) and Linux (64bit).
I am configuring some memories on a Kenwood TH-F7 with duplex column set to "split channel" mode, which is used to set two completely different frequencies for TX and RX instead of setting an offset.
I used Kenwood's own program (MCP F7) and it works. I have tried using Chirp (which is far more friendly) and it can read "split channel" memories correctly, but when I set a new memory for split channel mode, I get a popup that says "Invalid value for this field, radio refused" (and does not tell me which field).
After some testing I think I have narrowed it down to the "split" mode. When I set the duplex column as "split" I get this error, and on the radio I see that the memory is saved as a simplex mode memory.
Since Chirp can read the memory content (as set by MCP-F7 program to split mode) properly and displays the correct value for "duplex" column, I suppose that the bug affects only memory writing.

- Status changed from New to Feedback
- Model affected changed from TH-F7 to Kenwood TH-F7
Have you tried with a recent version since you submitted this?
If you haven't, and if you're still having this issue, please refer to the Wiki "How To Report Issues" and provide a debug log. Thanks!

I do not remember, since it was 8 years ago. I still have the TH-F7 but due to covid-19 I cannot get it now to repeat the test.

Thank you Fabio, hopefully things ease at some point. We'll keep it open for a while.
