UVF8 is very simmilar in functionallity with UVF9, which you support.
Also, UVF8 is a very usefull cheap tool for starters to learn.
Hopefully it will not be a big burden to add support for the UVF8.

The addition of a new radio to Chirp requires two things:
1) a volunteer developer who takes the task to work on this driver,
2) availability of test equipment, such as a loaner radio (see Rules For Loaning A Radio).
Unfortunately, you need to wait until both conditions have been met.

The TH-UVF8D is now supported by chirp - does it work for you?
The commercial software for it supports both models.
And: I can't see that the TH-UVF9 is supported by Chirp?
