Description
I am setting up a new repeater system for a heritage railway in addition to the current simplex channel and the required frequencies for the repeater of TX 449.475 RX 458.825 CTCSS 88.5.
As I have some Baofeng 888s hand held radio’s that I plan to test the new system with and for testing purposes I decided to set up a channel on the 888s’s to mimic the repeater.
It was then that I discovered that the hand held’s could not communicate with each other on the two channels.
I checked the setup in chirp and found that although I specified a ‘-‘ frequency for one channel chirp had stored it as a ‘+’ and programmed the 888’s accordingly.
I have not found a record of this feature being reported.
