Bug #6207
openIcom 2300H - CHIRP hangs during upload to radio at about 50% complete
0%
Description
Using Mac build of CHIRP daily 20181018 with new iCOM 2300H and genuine Prolific cable with latest drivers installed.
+Observed+
Download from radio works, but when attempting to upload a single channel to the radio the progress bar gets to about 50% and hangs. Force termination does not work and I'm forced to perform a hard reboot.

Installed Windows CHIRP daily 20181018 in a Windows 10 VM. Using the same cable and auto-installed Windows 64-bit Prolific drivers, I successfully uploaded to the radio with no issues.

This looks like a cable driver issue. Please refer to these Wiki articles:
CableGuide
CableGuide FTDI OEM Cables
[RTSystemsCablesAndMavericks]
If there's no solution to be found in any of them, please read: How To Report Issues and provide a debug log. Thank you!
MacOS: this OS is apparently very picky about USB to Serial cables. From what I heard, only (genuine) FTDI-based cables can be made work.
You must have the KK7DS Python runtime for Mac OSX installed.

Oops, closing this ticket was premature.
Could you please provide a debug log as described in the Wiki: "How To Report Issues", while trying under MacOS? Thanks!
