Description

Hi there!
I recently purchase an Baofeng UV-5R on aliexpress, and would like to use CHIRP to modify name and frequency of channels.
After some difficulties with the cable's driver (with WINDOWS 7), this is now CHIRP that don't want to download the image from the radio!
Even if I put the correct PORT, Vendor (Baofeng) and Model (UV-5R) result is always: "Incorrect 'Model' selected"
I have check the version from my UV-5R (Power+3) and this is showing BF4816N.

Could you help me understand what is the issue?
(first time for me to use this kind of software)
Thank you very much

Christophe,

Try the attached test driver module. Here is how you use it...

1 Save the attached "uv5r(B5R2).py" file to a convenient location.
2 Load CHIRP
3 Click "Help" in the menu bar and enable "Enable Developer Functions"
4 Click "File" in the menu bar and choose "Load Module"
5 Locate and load the file saved in step 1

CHIRP should now recognize your radio. Try to download and if successful, save the tab that was created to a CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file. Attach this newly saved file to this issue so I can review it.

Thanks,

Thank you for you feedback Jim,
Answer from CHIRP when I try to load the module is: "Unable to load module: invalid syntax (uv5r(B5R2).py, line 1)"

Now that I have correctly download the uv5r(B5R2).py file, the "download from radio" is working on CHIRP.
(Tips for newbie: You must click the file name and then click the "download" link on the page that appears)

find attached my .img file for review as requested.
