closedIcom IC-T70 downloads, but cannot save configurations

Description
Running Macbook Pro with Mojave. and Daily Chirp. IC-T70 will allow settings to be downloaded, but fails on upload. Message is "An Error has Occurred. Failed to communicate with the radio: DId not get clone results from radio." The radio says "CL ERR". It seems as if the radio has been reset to factory conditions. All of the settings hand-entered are replaced with the ones that the radio came with.

Additional info:
Some Icom radios are known to deny cooperation with FTDI cables (even genuine ones). Please try a cable with a genuine Prolific chip.
Unfortunately cables with fake "Prolific" chips make the vast majority of cables on the market; genuine Prolific cables are on the more expensive side.
