Bug #911
closedError in channel name breaks bank editor
0%
Description
Sometime since reporting #889 (I suppose due to its fix), one of my unused channels (#76) now displays "ERROR" in the channel name field. When switching to the "Banks" tab, only channels before the error are displayed, the status bar reads: "[0] Getting Bank information for memory 76", and the check boxes are unresponsive. (Also, with that thread hung, attempting to save the image hangs the whole app.) Sample image attached.
Workaround: Edit the channel name to get rid of the problem contents.

In memory 76 name there is an unsupported char, this cause the error in "post #889" version.
Although the char is unsupported Chirp should not die, I prepared a patch to replace all unsupported char with a "*".
It will be included in next days daily build.
TNX!

apologies if this is not the correct way to submit this, but this issue (ERROR in memory name causes bank list to get stuck) is still happening for me on a yaesu vx5 file using chirp-daily-20140921-win32
See memory 143 in the attached.
Thanks for a great application
