Description
Hey,
Recently got hold of some Baofeng UV-15R radios. I am unable to connect them through the software. Ive tried all the model options under the drop down with no luck. I don't see them listed in your compatibility list so assume they have not been added?
I would love to be able to connect these, so any help would be greatly appriciated :)
Note- I can connect a set BF-V9 radios, under model BF-888 no problem. So that eliminates the possibility of a connection issue.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Rob

The alternative model name for this radio is P15UV.
Stock programming software is available on https://www.abbree.cn/download/

Okay thanks! I'll try P15UV. Running Mac OS so can't easily run the stock software unfortunately.

Did you try the TYT UV88 or Retevis RT85 profile in Chirp?
This looks like a copy of those radios, though, on Banggood, it is advertised as having higher output power and more programmable channels.

Hi,
I also have a UV-15R. I tried the TYT UV88 and Retevis RT85 profile in Chirp, and neither of them works.
Even though they are physically similar, I think they are different devices. The UV-15R has 999 channels, the other two have 200. I also found this report online (https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/2AJGM-P15UV/5201604.pdf). The P15UV and the UV-15R seem to be the same.

Indeed, P15UV has 999 channels and only one FM radio channel (TYC UV88 has 200 channels and 20 FM radio). I think P15UV has 5W output. Some people report that UV-15R also has 5W.

I have used the Serial Port Monitor and dumped the read and write communications between P15UV stock software and radio. It seems that the config file saved from the software is directly written in parts/packets to the radio. I attach the files. The communications runs at 57600 bps, 8N1.

Dang, the Abbree website says "Bandwidth Exceed" when I try to download the CPS For the UV-13 Pro. Anyone have a copy they can share? Much Appreciated!

I've managed to download the software from here: https://www.hamradioshop.pl/pliki/Baofeng/Baofeng_P15UV.zip
This also works fine with Baofeng UV13 PRO (https://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/9367)
Thanks!

Hello to all
For UV-13 Pro use https://www.hamradioshop.pl/pliki/Baofeng/Baofeng_P15UV.zip or http://download.abbree.com/P15UV%20CPS.rar one is version 1.01 the other is 1.04 no difference between the to versions
Any news about adding this version to the Chirp?
Thanks!

Any update on this one? I think the TP-8R is also the same radio. Would love to see chirp support sometime soon.

Can you confirm the FCC ID on your TP-8R? FCC ID: 2AJGM-TP8 covers these models: TP-8S, TP-8X, TP-8Pro, TP-8Plus, TP-8R. I don't see that this is the same as the UV-15R. The enclosures look the same, but there is a different FCC ID assigned. (https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=5201614)

The FCC ID for the UV-15R is 2AJGM-P15UV, and is equivalent to these models:
FCC ID: 2AJGM-P15UV
Models: P15UV, UV-15R, GMR-15S, GM-898, GM-15X, TH-15S, AI-15X, AT-15UV, G-15UV (https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=5201614)
An additional FCC ID 2AN62-GM30 was granted for the Radioddity GM30, which is limited to GMRS. (https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=5209558)
