Description
Hello,
I have a used Wouxun KG-UV8E that I am trying to program. Chirp will not populate the settings. I have factory reset the radio to see if that would get reset the uhf tx range, to no avail. I'm guessing I need to change the uhf tx range so that the settings pane will populate? How do I do that when the settings pane will not populate? Please see attached log file.

Odd...
Your radio can go as low as 350 Mhz from factory?
Or is you that entered a 350 Mhz value some where?
That's the error on the logs, as this freq is outside the declared band of operations it complains and this error stop the Settting load.
Can you please clone the radio and attach a image save here to inspect it?
Cheers, Pavel CO7WT.

Hey Thanks for the quick reply, Pavel.
I got this radio as a hand-me-down from a local ham for my YL after she passed the Tech test. I have no idea what might have been done to the radio before I got it. Attached is the .img from the radio after a factory reset. Hope this helps to narrow down the issue...

Indeed,
That radio has a UHF RX range from 350-520 Mhz (TX restricted from 400-520Mhz); it's lower in 50 Mhz from the previous known models.
It must be a new hardware revision, as the internal version's date is: 20190813 vs old ones 20160507
I'm modifying the driver and will send a patch ASAP to get it supported, I think the old models can RX on that extra 50 Mhz without problem.

Hello Daniel and everyone, the patch will have to wait a little longer, what looked yesterday like a strong flu ended up being COVID-19.
Nothing serious for now, I am fully vaccinated and at home, I only have general discomfort and back pain. Right now awake and without a trace of sleep (midnight here) and my wife forbade me to use the PC for a few days.
Cheers, CO7WT.

Hey Pavel,
How are you feeling? How are you doing with your healing journey from the muckity-muck? Hope you are out of the woods.

Patch sent to dev queue.
Sorry for the delay, COVID was no big deal, but post covid... oh boy... I can't walk more than 2 blocks straight. I have to make a pause to regain my breath.
Take care and protect yourself, even when vaccinated.
Cheers, Pavel CO7WT.

Hey Pavel,
The new patch dropped yesterday and I got it installed and hooked up to the Wouxun today. It worked great! Thanks again! Hope you are feeling much better by now?!

Great news, Enjoy!
Feeling well now, I sometimes get cramps in my legs and knees, but nothing serious...
Little free time, saddly.
