Description

When I try to connect to the VX-8GE radio to clone contents, Chirp faces an error (Failed to communicate with the radio: Timed out reading from radio). I am using a Prolific chip with good drivers as RS-232 converter and connected the radio to the RD, TD and GND pins of the RS-232 (according to the schematic of the radio). I also start the radio in clone mode (FW+Power button and pressing Band button after clicking OK on the popup). What might be the cause of this error? I am using the same RS-232 cable for programming other radios and it works fine. You can find the log attached.

Cheers,
TA2BXX

It looks like Chirp reads the first 8 bytes with the radio's fingerprint (000: 41 48 30 34 31 02 00 06 AH041...), doesn't recognize it and just stops.
I'll have a look, but it will take a while.
