Bug #997
closedExtra characters in PX-777 channel names
0%
Description
I can't fully reproduce this, but I can give you sample files that cause it - but it's possible that there's something in my radio's state that's contributing, too.
I am finally able to program my PX-777+ completely from CHIRP, including special characters. Yay! But when I do that, and then use the Puxing software to upload and save a .sin file (for ease of bulk programming of my team's radios), I see that some of the channels appear to have extra characters at the end. For example, in the attached file, channel 1's name should be "HAM-A" but appears to be "HAM-A 00". The extra characters don't appear on the radio and don't seem to affect operation, but it's ... weird.
I'm using the daily from 20130707.
This might be a bug in the Puxing software, for all I know - CHIRP doesn't see the extra characters when I download from the radio. I've attached a .img and a .sin file...

As far as we know, the radio only has 6 digits alpha tags. When editing a memory, Chirp sets all 6 digits. It looks like the Puxing software is reading 8 digits, despite the radio only supporting 6.
Say "hi" to Matt for me. I'm a big fan of his mapping software.
