The daily build of Chirp worked fine for me on windows 8, but no longer works with my Windows 10 upgrade. Chirp will run, load a radio specific configuration file, but I cannot edit the file. I hope this is fixed soon. I will try to run the daily build on my laptop which is also upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Interesting, the latest daily build of Chirp, 21050702, runs on my laptop, which was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
More info on my desktop which was upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, Chirp runs, but then either runs SLOWLY or hangs....wondering if there is interference from another program. Doing more testing.

Update: Was just able to edit data files and update my Yaesu FT-897D, FT-857D and Baofeng 82 radios using both my Win7 to Win10 laptop and my Win8.1 to Win10 desktop. Not sure what was different before with the desktop and initial issues.
In summary, both my Win-10 computers are now working well with Chirp.

Matt,
Have you tried deleting the "chirp.config" file? I don't believe that it gets removed when CHIRP is uninstalled. So if it was corrupt in some way and causing a problem before, it would still be there causing a problem now. The "chirp.config" file is located in the same folder as the "debug.log" file so you can use the same instructions on the website for finding the debug.log file.

JIM! Thank You! that was the problem i just got chirp running and yes you was right, much appreciated thanks for the link as well. i got a question you may be able to help me on. i'm a volunteer fire fighter and our county made the switch from analog to digital signal is it possible to program the UV82 to get the digital signals? i had a bff8+ programmed to the signal but one day it all stopped. i got clearance to use my radio from my chief since the county bought only a handful of portable radios they got passed out to 4 other departments, my dept received only 3.. hence i'm making one of my uv82 strictly for fire operations

Matt,
I'm glad you have CHIRP working under Windows 10 now.
CHIRP related general questions should be asked in the "CHIRP mailing list":http://intrepid.danplanet.com/mailman/listinfo/chirp_users.
Your questions aren't really CHIRP related so they should be asked in another forum. Yahoo! and Facebook both have Baofeng related groups where your questions could be asked.

Today I created 2 virtual machines. One with Windows 10 Pro 32-bit and the other with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I was able to load edit and save my existing CHIRP Radio Image (*.img) files.
Next I plugged in my 3 year old programming cable which has a counterfeit Prolific chip and, as expected, Windows installed the latest Prolific device driver (which is incompatible with counterfeit Prolific chips). Since the installed device driver was incompatible with the chip in the programming cable, the programming cable was not working. Then following the "USB Cables & Drivers Guide":http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php on the miklor.com website, I downloaded, installed and selected the older Prolific v3.2.0.0 device driver in both virtual machines.
With CHIRP installed and the programming cable working properly, I was able to read and write from my Baofeng UV-82HP without any issues on either Windows 10 virtual machine.
CHIRP is, and has always been, compatible with Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit).
