I used CHIRP 20120812 to program my Baofeng UV-5R and today find out! out - my radio was bricked! 1) when I try to transmit - nothing happens ( display remains dark - nothing changes in display) 2) I attach headphones - the same problem - nothing transmits out 3) I switch to FM radio mode - listen to radio and then press PTT button - it switches to chanel mode 4) I reset radio - no changes. No I did not transmit without antenna. Looks like radio even did not try to transmit anything. After reading bug Bug #210 I managed to resolve unbricked radio, but - I did not see welcome screen and even in Settings==> Advanced settings ==> Dual watch is disabled - on display I see "S" witch means it is enabled. Thats all for starts.
