I don't have one of these either, but I might be able to do it blind if you can test for me. We will probably have to go round and round a couple times. First off, do you know this works properly with chirp-legacy?
Here's a module to load, like before. Please make sure you have a backup of the radio before you attempt any uploads with this or any other until we confirm it's fixed. If upload fails mid-way, the radio will reset.

That fixed it Dan. Thanks. BTW this worked properly with chirp-legacy.

Wow, really? First try? Just to be clear, upload and download works right?

Sorry. My bad. It downloaded fine but it would not upload. I received Failed to communicate with radio: unicode strings are not supported, please encode to bytes: "VC23\x001\x02F\x01\x01\x01'

Can you grab a debug log after reproducing the upload?

Ah, I found there are a few other variants at the bottom of the file that need tweaking as well. Can you try this updated one? If this doesn't work, please grab a debug log after the failure.
This time it actually did fix it. I downloaded the image, made a small change to it and then uploaded it to the radio and it worked fine. There is obviously not going to be a debug log since the fix worked. Thanks Dan.
