Ruyage UV58Plus it is the same radio as RETEVIS RT-890 or IRADIO 5118Plus. I'm also waiting for CHIRP support, because the factory program is terrible.
Best Regards

I would also like to see the Radtel RT-890 supported in Chirp. Radtel is usually pretty good with loaning radios for programming support.

I'm willing to work on this but they would have to donate the radio to me.

I finally got possession of a Ruyage UV58Plus and factory programming software that mostly works. I am attaching a test driver module so that those with compatible radios can test the download cloning process and provide additional CHIRP Radio Images (.img) files (especially if you have a **Radtel RT-890* or iRadio UV-5118Plus variants) for further testing.
Starting with today's newest CHIRP-next build, there is a new feature for loading test modules that are posted as a part of the CHIRP issue tracking system. Here is how it works.
- Load CHIRP (Make sure you are running CHIRP-next 20230303 or later. If not, upgrade and start over)
- Click Help in the menu bar
- Choose Load module from issue
- Key in the issue number (For this issue it is 10334)
- Choose the module from the list that you want to load and test (For this first module it is iradio_uv_5118plus-v0.1.py)
- Click the [OK] button
Your CHIRP is now running with the selected module loaded (as indicated in the Title Bar). Attempt to download from your Ruyage UV58Plus, Radtel RT-890, iRadio UV5118Plus or other variant using the following selections.
Vendor: Ruyage
Model: UV58Plus
After you have completed a successful download, save it to a CHIRP "image" (.img) file. Please rename it to have the same vendor & model as your radio and attach it to this issue. I will use them for testing as I further develop the remaining parts of the driver module.

Thank you for the quick turnaround on this! Is there a way to scan for CTCSS tones with this radio?

I would also be useful if you would enter the version and date of the firmware (menu 46) in the Optional description field.

Apparently nobody was willing to try the test module. So after patiently waiting 2 weeks for feedback, I decided to pick development back up where I left off.
Today I believe I am at a point to where I am calling it finished. A patch to add support for the Ruyage UV58Plus has been submitted.
And just for the record, this radio is a whole different animal compared to the Ruyage UV58 (Abbree AR-518). ;-)

Hi Jim,
I’m sorry I didn’t know that someone didn’t help you out. I tried the module and downloaded from a ruyage 58plus. I didn’t also try an upload but I realized that that portion wasn’t completed.
I won’t have access to the downloaded file for about 2 weeks. I can send it to you later on if that helps.

Hi Ryan,
That won't be necessary. The patch has already been accepted and merged so support should be in tomorrow's CHIRP-next build. This issue will be automatically closed when the build takes place so if there are any bugs discovered, a new ticket should be opened. Thanks.
