I read the instructions above:

Description

when i plug in the radio turn it on and select from the radio menu ... download from radio i get an error message. see attached photos. i expect it to read the radio but gives this error message. btech support told me to open this ticket and you would patch to enable chirp.

Your ticket states that the model affected is the BF-F8HP . According to the debug.log file and pictures that you have attached to this ticket, you are choosing Vendor: BTECH / Model: UV-5X3 in the Communicate with radio dialog box. To program a BF-F8HP you should be choosing Vendor: Baofeng / Model: BF-F8HP.
