Bug #10775
closedTM-D710_clonemode errors out at the end of the download
100%
Description
While reading data from TM-D710 using clone mode, the task errors out at the very end of the download. It looks like it downloads everything except for the very end. Everything downloads using the normal non-clone mode.

This same failure happens on Windows 11.

Can you try the attached module? In fixing the one thing you hit, I found several others that need cleaning up, so this may be something we have to iterate over a few times. Instructions: LoadingTestModules .
Thanks!

Dan, I tried loading the file using the using the Load module from issue on both Windows 11 and Macos Sonoma and it gives me an "invalid or unsupported module file" error. I tried in both normal mode and developer mode and it errors out the same in both modes.

Dan, not an idiot. We all make mistakes. The new module downloaded all the memories and memory properties just fine in Windows. I will have to connect my other radio to my Mac to test it, but I am sure it will work since it is a python module. I tried to check the settings and am getting a "list index out of range" error and no settings get displayed. I am reluctant to try to do an upload since the settings are not displayed and it might overwrite settings unfavorably in my radio. Much progress. Thanks for working on this.

Terry, the upload should be okay. Or at least, it's totally unrelated to the settings not displaying in CHIRP itself. That problem just means we're not interpreting something correctly in your image. If you can attach your .img
file to a new bug I'd very much like to fix that as well.
That said, if you've got an image, you should be safe to upload. If there are other bugs in the upload process we should be able to fix those and ultimately get your good image uploaded properly. Your call of course, but I'd definitely like confirmation that this is working for upload too, if you're willing.

Dan, I hooked up my other TM-D710 to my Mac and it works as well. I tried the upload and it also works with no issues. I will open a new case for the settings issue. I really appreciate you creating this module and fixing it. It is much faster to download and upload than the live module.
By the way, the method of testing new modules really slick. Kudos to all the chirp programmers for a great software.
