Description

When I try to download from radio using my vx-8r and CHIRP the status bar in CHIRP and my radio both move to 100% complete but at the last second an error message pops up that reads "Failure to Communicate with the Radio: Received Incomplete Image from Radio." I downloaded the driver for my cable from http://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/1473 after googling the issue and being directed to a bug that was recently fixed. I'm using a Mac to run CHIRP. All I want to do is to upload a repeater list I've created to my radio, I'm not particularly interested in "downloading from radio" but CHIPR won't let me select "Upload to Radio" for some reason. How should I proceed?

Hello.
I can confirm I have this issue with the radio on 0.4.0.
I was able to read it fine the first time I tried (brand new radio). My roommate suggested I factory default it (even though new). Once I factory defaulted the radio (holding band, hm/rv and the tx po and turning on) and replaced it back into 'clone' mode, I started receiving this error. I am not sure what was wiped from the radio that caused this that CHIRP is looking for that isn't there any longer. I made an image of my original layout so I might try and reload it and see if that helps at all. My roommate just tried it on his Linux after trying for a while in CHIRP and it finally let him do it again but we're not sure what caused it.

Hi,

I also get the same error message, I am running
Linux mint 3.11.0-12-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 9 16:12:00 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

"Failed to communicate with the radio: Received incomplete image from radio"

I attached my debug.log, chirp version is 0.4.0 and the radio is a VX-8G.

I like the software and I am looking forward to get a FT1D. I will check how to support this Open-Source software by including support for this radio.

I assume this isn't an issue any more? Works with my VX-8...
